Natural Scenery
The scenic area features overlapping peaks, winding valleys, and concentrated landscapes. The mountains are covered with dense forests, creating a canopy that shades the sky. Numerous winding paths crisscross the area. The scenic area boasts 49 peaks, 53 gorges, 8 reservoirs, and 290 ponds. There are 18,000 acres of forests, 5,000 acres of bamboo groves, and 350 acres of tea gardens, with over 300 species of plants. The forest landscape varies in height, with scattered shrubs and vines hanging from ancient trees, and bamboo forests that seem to stretch endlessly. Notably, there are ancient ginkgo trees that have been growing for over 800 years, evergreen holly trees with umbrella-like canopies covering an area of 200 square meters, and a variety of fragrant, colorful ancient trees.
Main Attractions
The Putang Scenic Area is divided into three main scenic zones: Huangzhuang, Jianhu, and Lingxuan.
· Huangzhuang Scenic Area: Located in the northeast of Putang, this area features high mountains, deep valleys, dense bamboo and trees, and a secluded, elegant environment. Its main features include secluded valleys and clear springs.
· Jianhu Scenic Area: Located in the southwest of Putang, this area is open and spacious, with interconnected mountains and water. Its main features include lakes, mountains, and bird songs.
· Lingyuan Scenic Area: Located at the entrance of Huangzhuang Scenic Area, this area is home to monuments for visitors to honor and remember martyrs, including the Martyrs' Tower, Martyrs' Tomb, and Exhibition Hall.
In 1989, the Ma'anshan municipal government, in collaboration with relevant experts, conducted an investigation of the area’s resources and decided to designate it as a natural scenic area for protection. The center can accommodate up to 2,000 visitors per day.
